Accessibility Statement

Our commitment

JIYU wants everyone to be able to browse and buy on jiyuskin.com, including people who use screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, screen magnification, voice control, or other assistive technology. Accessibility is something we work on continuously, not a box we tick once.

Conformance status

We are working toward Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA. jiyuskin.com is currently partially conformant: most of the site meets the standard, and we have identified specific areas that do not yet. Those are listed below, and we are actively fixing them.

What we have done

  • Automated accessibility scanning of the storefront every night and on every code release, with findings tracked as scheduled work rather than ad-hoc fixes
  • A "skip to content" link and landmark structure so keyboard and screen-reader users can bypass the navigation
  • Visible keyboard focus indicators, so keyboard users can always see where they are
  • Text and background colour combinations checked against WCAG contrast minimums, measured on the rendered page rather than assumed from the palette
  • Alternative text on product and editorial imagery, with decorative images correctly hidden from screen readers
  • Correct heading structure so screen-reader users can navigate pages by heading
  • Real labels on every form field, including search and newsletter sign-up, and buttons that are announced by name rather than by icon
  • Carousels, sliders, and product galleries operable by keyboard, with named previous and next controls
  • Respect for the "Reduce Motion" setting in your device or browser — scrolling banners and auto-advancing carousels stop when it is enabled
  • Accessibility standards written into our development process, so new pages and features are built to them instead of retrofitted

Known limitations

We are aware of the following and are working to resolve them:

  • Third-party content. Some features on our site are provided by outside services — payment processing, customer reviews, subscriptions, rewards, chat, and marketing tools. We do not control their code and cannot guarantee their accessibility, but we raise issues with those vendors and replace tools that cannot meet the standard.
  • Video content. Some product and customer videos do not yet have captions or transcripts. Where a video carries information you need, contact us and we will provide it in text.

How we assess this site

We evaluate jiyuskin.com with three independent automated testing engines, run nightly against the live store and again on every code release, backed by manual keyboard and screen-reader testing and color-contrast measurement against the rendered page. Automated tools cannot catch everything, which is why feedback from people using the site matters to us.

Technical information

jiyuskin.com relies on HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. It is designed to work with current versions of major browsers and with assistive technology, and to remain usable when the browser text size is increased or the screen is magnified.
